Welcome to The Resistance 🌊

All students. All parents. All families.

The student ministry at First Baptist Church DeKalb seeks to faithfully fulfill the Great Commission while ministering and discipling all students, all parents, and all families. We desire to follow Christ while creating ambassadors, warriors, and leaders of the Gospel.

Youth @ FBC DeKalb is on 🔥

Sunday Mornings

Campfire
9:30AM - 10:30AM @ The Youth Room
Campfire is foundational. This is where we explore and learn God’s Word. Each week, we highlight a piece of scripture and uncover its meaning for our world and our lives. We hang out, eat a light breakfast, and then break into groups to study God's word.

Wednesday Evenings

Bonfire
6:00PM - 7:30PM @ The Youth Room
Bonfire is for all students in 7th-12th grade. We hang out, play games, worship, and engage in a gospel-centered message. This is a great time of easy-going community with students from all over west Bowie county. There is a free meal offered to all students each week.

Special Events

Wildfire
TBD @ TBD
Youth Camp, SNL, the Winter Retreat, Mission Impossible, and Mission Trips are special events where students are allowed to step back from modern technology, grow in their walk with Christ, and focus on building community with their peers and others.

“We believe that two combined influences make a greater impact than just two individual influences. No one has more potential to influence a kid than their parent. The average church only has 40 hours in a given year to influence a life; the average parent has 3,000 hours per year to influence a life.”

Parent Partnership 🤝

You have a partner who is willing and excited to walk with you as you raise  your teenager in Christ. We want to sit with you during times of hurt and struggle, and celebrate each joy and excitement that comes with milestone events. As you disciple your teenager, we want to help.
